Mak jatuh motor
Setiap hari ada je orang jatuh motor – perkara biasa. Tapi mak dah tua, dah 71 tahun dan dah dekat 30 tahun bawa motor. Luar biasa. Macam mana mak boleh jatuh? Nak ke kedai beli sayur tapi motosikal tersangkut di pintu pagar (Biasanya okey je, tapi sebab ada renovation and lori besar masuk turunkan pasir dan batu, pintu pagar tu dah tersasar kedudukannya). Abis betis mak yang bunting padi tu berlubang disodok tempat letak kaki motor. Mula-mula bangun dari rebah, mak tengok cuma berlubang tapi takde darahpun. Sebaik sahaja kaki jejak tanah maka mencurah-curahlah darah merah mengalir. Alhamdulillah setelah dipaksa ke klinik dan dijahit, mak tak apa-apa selain calar-balar. Tapi keesokan harinya mak ngadu rasa macam nak demam. Rupa-rupanya bahagian dada atas mak bengkak dan lebam terkena handlebar motor. Rasanya takde tulang yang patah. Mungkin ambil masa untuk baik. Perlu sapu minyak angin dan dituam. (On totally unrelated note, mak juga mengigau/mimpi yang bukan-bukan waktu malam. Bukan setakat selepas jatuh aje. Saka lagikah?)
Saya sayang mak sangat-sangat. (repeat 100x)

I’m not stupid.
The same goes with everyone else. Though someone was stupid enough to believe that we, the general public can be stupid at times. Take the case in question. I was driving back from kampong, since the normally fixed radio channels went berserk (different states, different frequencies & CD player gone kaput –maklumlah local car) I had no choice while maintaining one eye on the road and tried to find the next best available station. The time was right after the call for Zuhr prayer. So, the announcer (Negri FM) said, now is the time for tazkirah (peringatan or reminder)– yes, you read it right – tazkirah. Appropriate don’t you think? Since it was solat time and everything. But it wasn’t appropriate when the so-called tazkirah was liberally laced or inundated with U*NO here and U*NO there within a space of few minutes of listening. Yes, we know that the next GE is looming in the horizon but please do not disguised the political rally under the name of religion. I’ve nothing against U*NO personally but for them to confuse politic and religion? The same rule applies to P*S too (which means that I support neither parties as totally cool)– both parties had no right to claim themselves as defender of the religion (Hudud or hadhari notwithstanding). Each parties are more sensationalist than ever. If U*NO is allowed to do what P*S is not allowed to do, isn’t it like the pot calling the kettle black?
That’s numero uno.
I’m not saying that only ustaz or ustazah are allowed to talk about our Deen. Again, the slot was said to be a tazkirah. But they’ve got a Historian (professor from UM) who is proudly claiming herself as the chief panelist (or something like that,) for the current Form 3 History text. She got me thinking, are we allowed to re-write history? She said, “Negeri-negeri Melayu (tidak) bersekutu TIDAK pernah dijajah oleh Inggeris. Yang dijajah cuma Negeri-negeri Selat (Melaka, P.Pinang dan Singapura). Negeri-negeri Melayu (tidak) Bersekutu cuma diLINDUNGi oleh Inggeris. Raja-raja Melayu tidak pernah menyerah…”
Wah, that’s new! And I don’t like it at all.
The way I see it, when the Portuguese then the Dutch followed by the British took control of the administration of these state(s) and pushing the Sultans & Rajas to one corner only (only as limited religious authority) that’s clearly colonialization.
colonialism (OED)
· n. the policy or practice of acquiring political control over another country, occupying it with settlers, and exploiting it economically.

They love me – They love me not - They love me – They love me not - They love me One of my brothers called last night (surprised!!) – offering his help (not surprised - kinda role/loan reversal). He asked about my study – asking me to push myself harder towards the End (which may means …*insertyouropinionhere*). He said, ada kawan dia dah gila (is this supposed to bring relief to me?) sebab sangkut time master lagi but I’d already passed that hurdle so things should be ok now – Oh, how I wish!! BTW, biasalah buat tesis ni 5,6 tahun…Man, I tell you -that’s really help!

Hi Rad
I hope your mom gets well soon. Very brave and strong of her to still move around on a motorbike.
Anyway, such is our world that have weird people who don't like the history they hear. So they prefer to have their own version (or interpret it to the way they want) to suit their taste. I just ignore people like that.
rad.....semoga ibu cepat sembuh....
idham
dlt,
Thx. Kasih-sayang kena dizahirkan dgn kata2 & perbuatan tp alangkah sukar klu kita tak biasa berbuat demikian...(dlm blog mudah amat sih!)
simah,
Jgn jeles - mak sayang saya lebih dr kakak2! (I juz knew it!)
Thx & I love u too! Muah3x!!
j.t.
Thx to you too. Yes, she is among the lucky few at my kampong who know how to ride. There're other widows but don't know how-to so they go the market once a week only to stock up on foodstuff. They're clever too - friends help each other - those who ride will pick up those who don't for religious classes or going to kenduris. But mak go to kedai like 5,6 times a day?
Mak is my hero - she rides (I told her, bawak kereta laju2 is like bawak motor & amik corner baring!), she smokes (used to - not that I'm encouraging smoking but the idea of mak smoking when others' mak dont is simply so cool!), she can built chicken-coop from scratch (who need man when we can do it on our own eh?), she can repair leaky taps long before our government decided to teach it in Kemahiran Hidup and lots more!
Ppl who change history according to their whim & fancy -make me confused. So which history is right now? I couldn't simply let it go coz it's so wrong.
Abe Id,
Thx to u too.
Rad..
Semoga mak cepat sembuh...
Omak sayangkan anak sama rata... tak ada beza... cuma layanan saja yg berbeza,, sebab setiap anak mempunyai kerenah berbeza.. so mak kena mengikut rentak anak2 nak bgi anak2 heppy..
t/care RAD..
umie
umie,
I know every mak sayang anak2 sama rata but I love to think that mak loves me more heheheheh. To the envy of my siblings. Contoh ye, klu anak yg itu balik dah sembelih ayam, so bila anak yg ini balik pulak pun kena sembelih ayam jugak. Musti ayam kampung tau!
I love to know that mak trust me with her finance, involve me in planning for hse renovation blahblah coz she knows she can always depend on me & one other sis who are singles! Last time, adalah jugak terasa hati coz mak tukar nama tanah coz one bro wants it without informing the rest of the children even though it's her prerogative but then look at what happen to janji2 manis dia....i mean my bro lah. Mak ada ckp, bukan senang jadi mak kpd 9 anak ni...mcm2 perangai ada! Umie lbh mengetahui kan?
