Ship Jumping Galore!
jump ship - (of a sailor) leave a ship without permission

Ahoy! Now that the End is near (InsyaAllahkena yakin), there have been efforts by certain parties to bring me around to the idea of changing my affiliation. My original intended ship is currently sailing smoothly up north of the sea. The captain of the ship, who took me in after all of a 10 minutes ship-view, decided that sending me down for internship at the ‘best ship that ever sail in the local sea - according to the current world-shipranking’ will make me a better sailor in the future, complete with all the decorations at a much lower cost. Recently, the shipmaster here had been jokingly (I guess since the situation looked like it) asked me to apply for between-ships (in-house) transfer or something. Then one of the shipmate had also encouraged me to do so and kinda said no problem in getting me in, quoting instance of others who did so. But, after we’ve been sailing together across and for the past Seven Seas (almost), I knew and whole heartedly decided that this current ship ain’t for me. After all, I always want to be known as a loyal shipmember first till last. Unless the bigger Captain himself (who is on my standing committee) extend an invitation (instead of application)– Ho! Then I might consider..but he might looks down on people like me. After all, I had test the water in the Kapitan’s vicinity - he prefers over-the-Seas trained shipmembers as opposed to local seafarers (he said to the Higher-Up Captain, “Man, this is like once in a 10 years occurrence…” - regarding one of those). What is the value of a local shipwrecked like me? In-breeding creates inferiority.

Out of the blue, another ship sailed (unnoticed) through my horizon. This ship which is no better and perhaps no less compared to my intended battleship had suddenly anchored on my port of call, unannounced but very much welcomed. Everything is still hazy but I kinda agreed for a propose rendezvous with the captain and shipowner in the week immediately after raya. Will you think less of me if I were to agree? (Simah does think – where’s my loyalty?) My Numero Uno has been saying indirectly, “If you were to make your moves, do it now not later (once you’re entrenched there) coz less havoc that way.” She knew of the half-joked offer but not of the latest development.

If it looks like I’m talking in riddles – it’s only because I hate to cause troubles (or jeopardise) on others who also decided to consider jump ship like me – so-called to stir up hornets’ nest. We’re talking here: binding contracts, staff pinching and political goodwill, not to mention academic integrity. However, this new ship’s offer really seems like a manna from Heaven – being a poor money-pinching student and not yet a staff neither here nor there like me – the timing is a tad fit too perfectly and the opportunities are abundance…..Like one said, “Macam duit terpijak!” I’m off to check whether my ship-papers are in good order. All aboard!!

I'm thinking...
A. ibarat kacang lupakan kulit?
B. don't count your chicken before they hatch?
C. cakap tak serupa bikin?
D. malu tapi mau?

dear,

i know this is cliche, but still...
"in indecisive time, seek Allah's help through istikharah..."

ada benda yang kita nampak dan ada benda yang kita tak nampak, dan tak naklah nanti dah 10 tahun akan datang baru nampak apa yang kita tak nampak masa buat keputusan - thus, istikharah, since Allah is All-knowing...

btw, tumpang lalu sikit - naper kak tenah bunyi amat tak puas hati dengan PTD?

Amoi ka apek ka,
Heheheh...I know you. People are such a flexible creature, mind-changing at any moment without notice...bak laut yg ada pasang & surutnya - you get what I mean?

Sedangkan lidah lagi tergigit..
Iman pun ada pasang surut...
Kawan datang & pergi...
Kubur sendiri2 jugak la..

You know what I observed so far?
tak kira mcm mana baiknya kita berkawan, when it comes to our death - siapa yg uruskan jasad kita? family jugak...so they come first & I give as good as I get!
