All in a day's happening

This is rad reporting from XXX.

First, lawak of the day.
Due to a pre-arranged appointment at 10am today, taking into account the amount of unfinished business, I had to login in early – as early as 7am – so as to catch some uninterrupted time in the office. Later, as the clock was ticking, my cubicle-neighbour who has just arrived gave me a warning, “Rad, someone looking for you…” I have the desperate intention of saying, “Please, don’t talk to me at least until 10am…” As I was turning around, “Eh-eh, Dr….” Fuh! Nasib baik tak terkeluar lagi…
“I left my phone at home today…”
“Laa.. saya punya phone tertinggal gak..” Padan muka dua-dua!
End of story: We’ll meet this coming Monday- YeaahAAA!

Second, office pest.
I do believe that where ever you go, there must be some kind of people, in particular, who would really annoy you, whatever they do with whatever intention. All I want is to be left alone!
Pantang terserempak (eg. on the way to the ladies – I recently practice closed-door policy at all times), he sure will say things like, “Uish…seriousnya..rilex aa…”
Rasanya ada yang nak kena penampar silap2 haribulan nanti!
Siapa kau?? Penaja? Penyelia? Penyibuk?

Third, balik kampong.
I’m almost at the end of my tether (Er, at least my quota for this week la). Talked to mak yesterday, she mentioned about the result of her latest check up – jantung ok, gula ok, semput - kena ambik gas, but high cholesterol! So, I justify my balik kampong later today so as to consult her on daily food intake, dos and don’ts etc. Lucky that I’d already have in-hand, Common Problems of the Ages – Dr. Chan Kin Ming, a relevant book I guess. My point about balik kampong is that, this is a special blessing of studying locally – tensen sikit, cabuuttt (byk)!!!

Fourth, life without gadgets.
So, you’ll keep your address book (mine now defunct) save with you and updated. Still can used public phone to make important calls.
Less irrational behavior/thoughts like wanting to kick the computer real bad or screaming verbal abuses at such 'an innocent thing' for being SLOW when you wanna things to be done in a jiffy!
(Pls, don’t mention IT – I’d scanned, clean-up with so many anti-? – the problem lies with the fact I’m using such a big program (and macam2 ada!)& big files..forget laptop – it serve different purposes!)

Fifth, keliru – BAHASA JIWA BANGSA.
Yesterday’s The Star Online.

Only one way to say ‘flour’
I READ with horror Fadzilah Amin’s reply to a reader’s question on whether “flar” is a correct pronunciation for the word “flour” (Dec 27).
Like most Malaysians, she would, no doubt, be very comfortable with (mis)pronouncing “flour” as “flar”, rather than using the correct pronunciation, which sounds exactly the same as for the word “flower”.

I was shocked by Richard Tan’s response to my answer to May Nozawa who had asked me about the pronunciation of “flour”. Without having ever met me or heard me speak, he made assumptions about my English pronunciation and method of answering the question, that I find both insulting and inaccurate.
If he were to read my answer again, carefully, he would realise that the two alternative pronunciations that I consider correct are /’flau-e(r)/ and /flaue(r)/, each given by at least two respectable British English dictionaries and not “a shorter pronunciation guide” as he claimed. The first alternative has two syllables and the second has one syllable.
……
In Utusan Online, something under the heading - syarikat utility rugi besar!

Utility = utility, I’m ok with this – make life easier and all that but Akta Peniaga Sekendhend 1946 (being quoted in 2007 some more!)??
Hello000, tak pernah dengar pun!
Second-hand goods = barangan terpakai da…
